Hazel Frederick appeared somewhat concerned on a shopping day in 1969 when she saw a young woman toss her hat into the air.
Hazel Frederick was the woman whose quizzical look was accidentally preserved for TV audiences as Mary Tyler Moore tossed her beret into the air at the opening credits of the Mary Tyler Moore Show.
Mrs. Frederick was shopping in downtown Minneapolis one day in 1969 when a camera crew filmed Moore for the opening show credits. Her puzzled reaction was caught on film as she stood in the background, noticeable in a green coat with fur collar and matching scarf.
